Dental Implants

If you’re missing one or more teeth, Dr. Matthew Burton’s team can provide a long-lasting solution with dental implants! Dental implants provide durable, natural-looking tooth replacement solutions using titanium posts implanted into the jawbone. They are built to last for life and don’t require dietary restrictions.

We offer the following dental implant systems:

Bone Grafting

Periodontal disease can destroy the jawbone, making it impossible to support a dental implant without specialized treatment. If you are suffering from this condition, Dr. Matthew Burton may recommend bone grafting (also called natural bone regeneration). This treatment can allow the jaw to safely hold a dental implant. This specialized approach, can also stimulate jawbone regeneration, resulting in a stronger, healthier, jaw!

Sinus Lift Surgery

Sinus lift surgery, also known as maxillary sinus elevation, is performed on patients with insufficient bone height to support a dental implant or if the sinuses are too big or close for an implant. This surgery allows for more excellent stability of implants by using grafts taken from another part of your body (another tooth root!). Our team typically performs sinus lift surgery to provide more security for dental implants.

Ridge Augmentation

After tooth extraction, a bone graft is placed directly into the empty socket where the roots once were. This helps recreate natural gum and jaw shapes after an extraction. Ridge augmentation can be used to prevent the deterioration of jawbone that would otherwise occur following tooth extraction, making it possible for patients to use dentures or receive dental implants.

Ridge augmentation procedures have been proven to benefit the overall health of a patient’s smile and improve their appearance. In addition Recreates a natural bone and gum ridge, which enhances the appearance of your smile and stability for long-term function. It also reduces gaps between the gums and dental restorations.

Dental Extractions

Tooth extractions are performed as part of emergency treatment following an accident or injury, such as a broken jaw; they can also be scheduled so that the patient’s mouth is free of teeth when orthodontic work (straightening teeth) is done.

Dr. Burton and his dental team perform extractions for patients who experience pain or discomfort and have infections caused by damaged teeth. In some cases, a surgical extraction may be required; in others, simple extractions are all needed to remove the tooth. Dr. Matthew Burton performs a dental exam and takes digital x-rays to determine the extent of damage before performing any extractions.

Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom teeth are extra molars that grow at the back of the mouth and will often need removal to avoid excess tooth pain and crowding. Your dentist will determine when it’s best for you or your child to have wisdom teeth removed using his advanced diagnostic tools.

At Clearwater Dental Associates, we perform a variety of wisdom teeth removal surgeries, including those on impacted teeth!
